Our Wines

As the word itself reveals, “L’Avanzo” is what remains of our single varietal wines once bottled.  The blend consists of 70% Sangiovese and 30% Mammolo.

Tasting Notes:

Ruby red with slight garnet hue, evolving nose, notes of small red fruits and field herbs, intriguing and sensual. The mouth has a great synergy between power and freshness, well-defined tannin that bodes well for great aging potential, pleasantly bitter mouth closure.

The vineyards of this rare native Tuscan grape variety, the Mammolo, suitable for the production of “Il Legato” cover one hectare and the average age of the plants is 15 years.

Tasting notes:

Bright, brilliant ruby red color. The nose opens sensually, offering a range of aromas reminiscent of small red fruits: raspberry and cassis, sour cherries, which blend sensually with the spicy notes of wild juniper, cinnamon and carcadé. The sip is enveloping, long, harmonious: a true masterpiece.

The child of experimentation: the result of micro winemaking trials, it is a blend of Sangiovese, Merlot and Syrah from single vineyards.

Tasting Notes:

Ruby red, high impact, a wine that immediately stands out for its power and verticality. Notes of ripe red fruit follow, melding with hints of flowers macerated in alcohol. The mouth is distinguished by great workmanship with round, polymerized tannins, the taste is reminiscent of red fruit in full ripeness, great warm and persistent mouth closure.

The grapes that give rise to “Botti” come from a single vineyard of about 3 hectares in size; the average age of the plantings is 40 years.

Tasting Notes:

Brilliant ruby red shaded on the rim towards garnet notes, lively in tone hinting at great freshness of taste. The nose opens broadly, giving hints of small wild sour cherries, dry hay and a complement of spices closing with balsamic notes and pipe tobacco. The mouth is coordinated with the soul of the dry wine, freshness running on young tannins, a mouth closing with bitter cherry flavours.

This wine in its cleanliness and elegance is the synthesis of the entire winery, which has always cultivated its lands in a way that respects nature.

Tasting Notes:

A young but thick Chianti, with a beautiful nose, clean, balsamic, with floral and fruity notes. In the mouth the liquorice blends with the intense cherry and raspberry scents that remain in a pleasant finish. A fresh and very drinkable product .

Syrah vines suitable for the production of this wine have an average age of 20 years and cover one hectare.

Tasting Notes:

Intense colour with violet hues, bright. A beautiful nose of black fruit, blackberry and blueberry juice, floral and balsamic finish of mint. Velvety, elegant and refreshing Syrah on the palate, with quality tannins, perfectly synergistic with the flow of the wine. Long, juicy finish.

Tasting Notes:

Soft pink colour typical of Mammolo. Intense, persistent, pleasant and floral nose; slight underbrush with small red berries.  Fresh and typically acidic in the mouth, with right tannicity, persistent with hints of raspberries and wild strawberries.

Unlike our other Mammolo-based wines, the vineyards suitable for the production of Il Santo are located at an altitude of 400mt.

Tasting notes:

Light ruby red, elegant and not very viscous, almost transparent. Fresh red fruits on the nose, pleasant balsamic and liquorice notes. In the mouth fresh and elegant, dynamic and intense. Long and enveloping finish.
